Please read through the 5 steps below so that we can help you create a website that fits your needs and helps you reach your objectives.  We use a streamlined approach that take your needs into consideration - while maximizing our efficiency and production capabilities. By following the steps below, you can be assured that the design we will produce for you will effectively engage a dynamic and practical solution to your website needs.

 

1. Discovery, Analysis and Planning

We begin each project with a discovery phase. Our team interviews you to learn about your business needs and goals. During this process we will also inquire about the purpose of the site, whether you would like to sell your products online, build an informational site and learn more about your target audience. We then conduct research to analyze your target audience and competitors in your field.
The conclusion of this step is an understanding of your company's position, trends in your industry, and your expected outcome from our project together.

After gathering of information we go to the phase of planning of your web strategy. We put together a map of your site and suggest our solutions.

However, this step involves a client's input in order to begin your project:

A. Send Content

ShockPlanet will require that all content and images are received for the homepage before moving forward with your project. All content must be proof read and 100% complete. We are not responsible for spelling and grammar mistakes. Additional fees may be applied to updates and or changes to the content that you have provided once it has been submitted.

B. Page Identification

ShockPlanet will have quoted you for a specific amount of pages for design work. We will need to have the titles of all the pages you have purchased for the site. Examples would be Home, About Us, Contact Us etc. After receiving this material – we can begin work on your project design!

 

2. Home Page Design Approval

With information and site map in hand, we can start to design your website. We define the look, feel and style of your website. The most important element is a target audience.

Once we have the content and know where you would like it within your site structure - we will begin making updates to your design concept. You will send all the updates that you have to your project manager.

As you submit your revision requests, you will receive a response from us within 24 to 48 hours. This process will continue until you are 100% satisfied with the design. When you are ready to approve the design, you will send a formal email stating that you are 100% satisfied and that we can proceed to the next phase – Home Page Coding and Inner Page Design.

Once a design has been formally approved, there will be extra fees applied for changes needed to the approved design.

 

3. Home Page Coding and Inner Page Design

Once we have received formal approval for the design, we will code the design into HTML. When you receive the update for the coded page, you will need to ensure that the page that has been coded to HTML appears exactly like the design you have approved.

We will also create an inner page concept. The inner page concept is going to be the design that is used for all inner pages. You will receive updates directly from your project manager and can respond accordingly. You will get updates within 24 to 48 hours of submitting requests for updates for the HTML of the Home Page and the inner page concept.

You will continue this process until you are 100% satisfied with the HTML of the home page and the design of the inner page concept. Once you are ready to approve the HTML and inner page design, you will need to send an email with formal approval for the HTML of the Home Page and the design of the inner page.

Once you have submitted formal approval for the HTML of the Home Page and the inner page concept, there will be additional fees to make changes to them. Once we have the formal approval, we will proceed to the next step – Development.

 

4. Development

Once we have the formal approval of the inner page design, we will add your content for all the identified inner pages. You will receive an update within 24 to 48 hours with links to all the inner pages.

This phase involves the coding and development of all other applications for the site depending on the type of site you have chosen - (eCommerce, brochure site, informational site, HTML or flash based site)

You will review and submit all changes needed to every page. Your Project Manager will follow up within 24 to 48 hours of each request until you are 100% satisfied with each of the inner pages.

Once all updates have been complete and you are 100% satisfied will the design and HTML, you will send an email to formally approve of the work that has been complete. Once we have received the email for formal approval for the work, we will load the approved files to your hosting server within 24 to 48 hours.

Once you have submitted formal approval for the site and the site has been uploaded, we will proceed to the final step – Final Walkthrough and Delivery

 

5. Final Walkthrough and Delivery

During the final walkthrough, you will work with your project manager to ensure that all the pages that you see uploaded to the live server are the same files you approved. This phase involves the delivery of your finished project – your new website!  This is the final touch and it also includes the testing of the website: Probing the functionality, optimization and code validation. We will require a written email approval to let us know that you are satisfied with your project. Once you approve the final product then the website can be uploaded and launched.

Once you have finished the walk through, we will require sign off on the project prior to uploading to your web server or enabling your site live if hosting with us.
